Thanks to anyone who has had sand between their toes at The Sandbox in Georgetown and previously Magnuson Park. It has been a blessing for us since the day we opened up in 2005, Thank You Jesus! We had no idea what God had in store for us and what it would mean to us and the community. We were the first indoor beach volleyball facility in the Northwest and it was a great 15 year run. However, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and so goes The Sandbox. We are bringing that to and end on January 31st and we are looking forward to seeing what God has planned for us in the future.
I was hoping to have a week or 2 to open up so I can say final goodbyes and hit the ball around with all of you, but with the current COVID restrictions, I don’t think that is going to happen.
To think of all the ways that our business has touched the lives of so many people, and all the lifelong friendships and relationships that have been started in and around The Sandbox just blows me away. I’m humbled and honored to have been a part of it. In light of that, I’m going to invite all of you to post as many pictures as you want of the joy that our business has brought you on our FB page. You can make comments about what The Sandbox has meant to you over the past 15 years as I’ll read and cherish all of them. I’ve opened up the FB settings to allow for you all to post freely.
I’m still planning on keeping our Alki Fridays League going during the summers so you won’t be totally rid of me just yet. I’m looking forward to see all of your smiling faces at the beach again.
Praying God’s blessings over you all.
Love and lots of tight virtual hugs to every one of you!
Willie – Grand Poobah of The Sandbox
