Lil Diggers – Special session Saturday 2/25/12 from 1:00pm-3:00pm
Thanks to everyone for promoting and submitting your name ideas to us! We liked what we saw, so it was a tough decision. But there can only be one winner. We’re happy to announce Cassie Leonard as the winner of the $100 “Lil Diggers Playtime” punch card.
Look forward to playing with your kids at the “Lil Diggers Playtime” starting Monday, October 24, 2011 (we’ll be open Mondays and Thursdays from 10AM-12:30PM).
In the coming weeks, we’re going to open The Sandbox Playtime. Bring your kids to play in Seattle’s largest indoor sandbox playground! But before we open up the indoor sandbox playground, we need your help.
“The Sandbox Playtime” deserves a fun name that’ll get everyone excited and talking. So pop open a can of Creative O.J. and submit your snappy-name ideas through Twitter @SandboxSports or Facebook Sandbox Sports Seattle (make sure to follow and “Like” us).
Then we’ll choose our favorite and award one winner with an amazingly awesome prize: a $100 playtime punch card.
Get all your clever friends and family in on the contest too. Hurry and enter now!

Rain out at Alki!!
The sun didn’t come out for our Mid-Summer Classic Tournament but our players sure did! 11 B level coed 2′s teams battled it out, not at Alki, which was experiencing a major case of the drizzles, but at the Sandbox in Georgetown. The players and spectators agreed: it was nice to be able to hang out without getting wet. And, with bathrooms and food all nearby, this year’s tournament went faster and more smoothly than ever.
In the doubles division Dan Stewart and Kelly Kunack won the coveted trophies, t-shirts, AND FREE 2-hour volleyball party on one court. Later that afternoon, the co-ed 4′s team BEAD jousted 7 other teams to take the top prize in co-ed 4′s.
Congratulations everybody on a great tournament. Stay tuned for our Endless Summer Tournament coming to The Sandbox this September!
Join us at Alki Beach for the best way to end your work week or begin your weekend. Our outdoor beach league provides play levels for everyone whether your advanced, intermediate or a beginner with emphasis on fun, sportsmanship and safe play. Click here to learn more.
No Drop in on July 6th & 7th
New drop in session on Fridays 10pm-midnight!!
Don’t have enough time to join one of our leagues? No problem. We’ve got plenty of opportunities for you to play as a drop-in. We also have a designated kid sand area, so your kids have a place to play while you play and socialize with the adults.
- Happy Hour Drop-In - Thursdays 4:30pm ($12/player)
- Late Night Drop-In - Thursdays & Fridays 10:00pm ($12/player)
- Lunch Drop-In - Wednesdays 11:30am & 12:30pm ($12/player)
- Volley Mamas Drop-In – Thursdays 10am-noon ($20 per drop in session).
For parents with small children we will be starting up our Volley Mamas league where you can bring your kids to play in our designated kid sand area, and the parents can rotate watching the kids and playing volleyball. Get out of the house, get some exercise, interact in community with other parents, socialize, and at the same time play in the sand.
All skill levels welcome!
